I know there's lot deafies pet out there, I'm curious if one of you guys ever owned or wanted to have a deaf pet? If u owned it once or anything like that, I want to know what is it like to have deaf pet... I know 18% of white fur Boxer is deaf, from what I see on Animal Planet, "Dogs 101" I don't mind to have one, I think it'd be so awesome! ![]()

I used to have a deaf dog, Luke, from my good friend's rescue. Boy, it was rewarding yet difficult. Luke was an aussie with very light blue eyes, very beautiful. He was difficult because he was full of energy and tended to run off (could not call him back because he could not hear). We had to RUN after him to get his attention. If he was napping, he could get startled easily when you pet him...not sure if it was due to his past or his inability to hear us approaching him. Luke knew few signs such as sit, bedtime, eat, play, no, good boy (he LOVED that one! |

Ahh that's AWESOME!!!!! If you are still in contact with your friend, any chance I might get contact info? For the future of course when I have money and time to own a pet, I'd love to have first pet that is deaf... |

I haven't had any deaf pets, but I know of a couple people that have them. As for my dogs, they do know some of the signs. |
