I wanted to share one of my experiences where my hearing friends would forget I am deaf. One night I was staying at the hotel with a group of hearing friends. We needed a bucket of ice so I volunteered to go and get it. So out I went and grabbed a bucket. When I returned to the hotel room, the door was locked so I knocked. No answer. I knocked again and waited few minutes or so. There still was no answer. Hmm, interesting, I thought. I then banged on the door until it finally opened. There stood my friend all red-faced while others were laughing so hard. Do you know why? The fool asked me, keep in mind I am fully deaf, for the password through the closed door! DOH! 
That's funny. I hate when ppl forget I am deaf. 
It gets annoying sometimes. But that means they did not think of me as a DEAF person which I like....they just see me as Mish. When they start talking to me too fast or hand me the phone as to make a phone call for them, I'd be like "umm hello?! I'm deaf!" something like that happened to me few time but not funny as your, in high school one of my friend would talk to me then turn to other person n talk then (he's hearing) and talks out loud to me like i was hearing and explaining something, i'd just nod and smile, until he go "d'oh".... im sure this happened to everyone in some point of their life.
